Distributed Proofreaders is a web-based interface and an international community of volunteers who help converting public domain books into e-books. For this exhibition they proofread all Mundaneum publications that appeared before 1923 and are in the public domain in the US. Their collaboration meant a great relief for the members of Algolit. Less documents to clean up!
All the proofread books have been available on the Project Gutenberg archive.
For this exhibition, An Mertens interviewed Linda Hamilton, the general manager of Distributed Proofreaders.
